The Match Move™

The realization was simple and powerful: burnout is driven by mismatch. This framework now underpins my keynotes, advisory work, and upcoming book.

It all came together around one simple insight: most chronic stress and burnout aren’t caused by bad people or broken leaders. They’re caused by mismatch. When expectations, roles, systems, and human capacity stop lining up, stress becomes chronic and burnout follows. Naming that shifted the conversation away from blame and labels like “toxic” and toward something far more useful. Collaboration.

The Match Move™ framework now underpins my work with organizations and my upcoming book, releasing in 2026/2027. The focus is forward looking, practical, and shared. Less finger pointing. More figuring it out together. In a world where we can’t even agree on how a toilet paper roll should face, we can always get honest about whether something is moving us closer to a match or deeper into a mismatch. That question is simple, elegant, and scalable, and it gives leaders and teams a way to move forward together.
